Instagram Food Diary

I've had an Instagram account for a while now, and it's more updated than this blog. It's just more convenient to snap a photo of something, add a caption, and post it right away compared to making a blog post about it. It has been an easier way for me to document stuff as well! I enjoy taking pictures of food even before Instagram happened, it's my one way of appreciating it aside from eating it (of course)! :)) Also lately, it's been my habit to check food photos on my phone every now and then because I remember my days by the food that I eat! :)) Anyway, here are a few pictures of food I was able to try the past few months.

The Cafe Mediterranean
Food was okay, but I remember saying I liked Cyma more.

House of Lasagna
The lasagna comes in generous portions and not pricey at all! The Chicken is a must-try, so good!

Pepper Lunch
One of our go-to places when we're not up to trying something new. Beef Pepper Rice with Egg is my all-time favorite!

Ramen Cool
I was not expecting too much when I ate here, but still got disappointed. :( Good thing the place was nice.

Mad Mark's Creamery and Good Eats
Second time at Mad Mark's and I'm glad they opened a new branch! This Roasted Pecan ice cream is one of the best, not too sweet and it has, well, pecans! :))

Bag of Beans
Food was so-so and a bit overpriced, except for their cheesecake! The best I've ever tasted, I swear! I'd go back for the cheesecake and the place, wonderful ambiance. :)

Cupcakes by Sonja's
Shared this Peanut Butter Nutella with Prince since we're not big fans of sweets, him especially!

Yabu: House of Katsu
Who would say no to that big chunk of juicy delicious meat? The unlimited fruit is a plus as well! :D

Hanamaruken Ramen
Yes, another ramen place here in Manila! A tad too salty for my taste, not sure if it was just our batch. But I love that they serve 8 pieces of Gyoza for only 150php!!!! :))

A Taste of Slice
I am a sucker for pretty food! But this Choco Yema cupcake is not only pretty, it's yummy too! A bit too sweet for my taste though, I was only able to finish half of it.

Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe
Food was okay. Not great, but okay.

Wai Ying
Our favorite Chinese fast-food when we were in college! They have the best fried wanton and hakaw! :D

Bali 2013

Another travel post! Last year was a mix of highs and lows, but why talk about the bad things, right? Let's just focus on the great things that happened, and this Bali trip is definitely one of them. Had the opportunity to go to Bali in between our Singapore trip, thanks to Prince's wonderful family! :D

Aside from the temple tour, we also tried white water rafting and surfing (albeit very briefly), then finally had a much needed Balinese massage. I am no adventurer. I am a homebody who finds pleasure in staying at home, watching TV, reading books, and surfing the net. This whole Bali experience though, is such a refreshing change and a huge step out of my comfort zone. Definitely looking forward to more adventures in the future! :D

Cafe Shibuya

I was quite intrigued when I first learned about honey toasts, and it looks like it's been a craze in southeast Asia for sometime now. When I found out that there is a place in Quezon City that offers Japanese honey toast, I made sure to drop by once I got the chance. Went to Cafe Shibuya a few weeks ago and I'm glad I tried these! Just look at that Strawberry Matcha Toast and Shibuya Benedict, I couldn't resist not taking pictures as they looked absolutely photogenic, is there such thing as photogenic food? Well anyway, I am making a blog post about them as well, they were that good. Haha Posting these pictures made me hungry and crave for these again, I would love to try other dishes on their menu. Someone open a Cafe Shibuya near my place please! :D

Singapore 2013 Part 2

They say a photo is worth a thousand words. I originally planned to just post pictures of the second part of this trip because 1. my brain decided not to function and I cannot think of anything decent to write and 2. I'm lazy. But here I am squeezing my brains out so I can add something to this post, being my first out of the country trip post and all. I've always dreamed of traveling the world and we all know that it is a luxury that not everyone can afford. So when the opportunity for me came knocking, I grabbed it in a heart beat.

Almost 2 weeks of being all touristy and it still seemed not enough. Had so much fun at Universal Studios, I enjoyed taking pictures of flowers at Gardens by the Bay, and felt like a kid going on a field trip when we went to the Singapore Zoo, Night Safari and Jurong Bird Park. Did tons of walking and I didn't mind one bit. okay maybe a little.. HAHA But seriously, I did not mind walking around (we got lost a couple of times) as long as I had a full tummy! Getting hungry makes me all sorts of grumpy. :)) Everything there seemed to be so organized, not to mention their transportation system! I actually enjoyed riding the MRT, it was so convenient. Malls were everywhere, it was so tempting to shop. Lots of great food places as well! If ever I get the chance to go back, I would definitely make it a shop and eat kind of trip! :D This was such a wonderful experience, I wish I could do it more often. :)
